Jennifer Garner: My dad didnt think Garner girls should have pierced ears

Wired has an “autocomplete” interview with Jennifer Garner, where they ask her the most googled questions about her. Their interview format is a clever and an easy way to come up with questions for celebrities. In the video we learn that people want to know if Garner is Canadian (no), if she does her own stunts (sometimes), if she knows more than one language (no), and what personality type she is. When she gets to the “personality type” question she doesn’t seem to know that it’s about the popular Myers-Briggs personality scale, and then says she’s part introvert/part extrovert and will have to Google to see what her personality type is. All you do is take a test online to find your personality type. Even my 13 year-old knows about Myers-Briggs, I’m surprised she’s never heard of it The most interesting answer was the one she gave to whether her ears are pierced. They’re not because her dad didn’t let her and her sisters get their ears pierced. She said “My dad didn’t think Garner girls should have pierced ears.” So her dad got to decide that for her and all her sisters and she never made the decision to get her own ears pierced. I saw Love, Simon over the weekend and to call it wonderful and moving is inadequate. My friend and I were crying and hugging for about half the movie. Garner played the mom in that and she was about as necessary in that film as she was in Dallas Buyer’s Club. She’s smart to play up her personal life because she has not been a standout in any of the films I’ve seen with her. That said, she seems to shine in action roles and I’m glad she’s getting another chance to do that with her film coming out, Peppermint.
