Justin Bieber's 'What Do You Mean?' Just Got An 80s Makeover!

“What Do You Mean,” was the first single released from Justin Bieber’s fourth studio album, Purpose. With a thumping beat and catchy melody, the song topped the charts in the U.S. and was Bieber’s first single to ever do so. Nearly a year later, the song has been remastered to sound like it was released in the 80s! Soundcloud user Tronicbox takes contemporary hits and puts an 80s spin on them.

The rework of the song has the makeup of all our favorite 80’s power ballads: synthesizers, a heavy hand on the snare drum, and, of course, a wailing saxophone solo. The song brought back memories of poofy hair, neon leg warmers, awkward school dances, and denim…lots of denim. You’ve never heard the Biebs like this before!

Another of Bieber’s tracks, “Love Yourself,” also got the 80s treatment, including a funky melody carried by a distinctive slap bass.
